JOBSEEKERS were offered salaries 10 percent higher than those offered last year at this year’s Golden Collar World Job Fair held Saturday at the Wuzhou Guest House.
The fair attracted 200 well-known enterprises, providing about 5,000 vacancies. Jobseekers with at least three years of work experience in big companies, particularly those among the world’s top 500 enterprises, were given priority.
More than 300 vacancies with an annual salary of more than 200,000 yuan (US$27,397), and positions with an annual salary of more than 500,000 yuan accounted for 50 percent of the total vacancies. Some enterprises, such as Powerlong Group, even provided positions with an annual pay of some 1 million yuan.
“I would like to be a manager in a big IT company with a monthly salary of about 15,000 yuan, and there are some choices for me at the fair,” said a jobseeker surnamed Xiao who had 10 years of work experience in the IT sector and in HR.
Big companies were popular with jobseekers. “We have received dozens of resumes and we need to choose from them. Most jobseekers chose us because Hitachi is one of the top 500 enterprises in the world with good welfare and a sound business,” said Zhang Guoquan, director of engineering at Hitachi Global Storage Technologies (Shenzhen).
Most of the recruiting companies thought highly of the job fair and hoped more would be held every year.
“It is a well-organized, professional job fair providing lots of opportunities for us,” said Alec J. Hart, general manager of operations at AV BreconRidge Ltd., who had participated in the job fair three times.
